How do we do this securely without compromising your information to hackers? I use secure shared drives to hold the information. Information can be placed on the shared drive just like any other drive on your computer except it is in the cloud and only you and I have access to it. For extra security, we can use VPNs to move the data to and from the shared drive so, even if the data is intercepted in transmission, it cannot be compromised.
What is the procedure for getting tax returns done? Here is my ten-step process for getting your return done and keeping your information secure. First, send me a message using the contact link above stating what you want done. Second, the answer back to you will be how to place a small deposit fee (to be applied to your total bill) in order to get the structure set up. Third, I will set up the shared drive and provide instructions on how to access the shared drive. Fourth, you will be able to move all your scanned/picture income tax documents to the shared drive. Fifth, I will complete your return, communicating with you on any questions I might have. Sixth, you will be able to examine a draft of the tax return that will be located on the shared drive. Seventh, once you approve of the return and there are no more changes, you will be able to sign the efile form allowing me to electronically file your tax return and you can pay the balance of the fee for the return. Eighth, once the return is accepted, I will place the final return, confirmation receipts, and any payment due vouchers (if any) on the shared drive. Ninth, you can copy all information from the shared drive to a storage device of your choice. Tenth, the shared drive will be destroyed after a given period of time.
What states do you do? I have worked for a large tax return "mill" and have done the tax returns for most states in the U.S. I am particularly used to the New York - New Jersey combination returns. Multiple state returns are not a problem!
